A joint operation has been conducted under the leadership of Bangladesh Army in Mathbaria Upazila of Pirojpur.
On Friday late night, on the basis of secret information, under the leadership of the Mathbaria army camp commander, a raid was conducted in Dhanisafa village of the upazila, and local sharp weapons and drugs were recovered.
The recovered weapons and drugs include 4 Ramdas, 1 chapati, 1 Chinese axe, 135 pieces of yaba, 20 grams of ganja. Besides, 15 thousand 900 taka in cash, 8 stolen mobile phones, 1 camera were recovered.
Meanwhile, Md. Hafizur Rahman Hasib, Nazmul Shikdar alias Kalia, Md. Quddus Munshi and Md. 4 people named Tauhidul Islam were arrested.
The arrested persons were handed over to the Mathbaria police station along with the recovered items after preliminary interrogation at the Mathbaria army camp. According to police sources, there are several cases of murder and terrorist activities against the arrested.
Abdullah Al Mamun, the officer in charge of Mathbaria police station, said that the case is being processed in the name of those arrested in the operation of the joint forces.
