Sheikh Hasina has fled to India in the face of intense popular movement, and there are now 225 cases against her. Among these, 194 are murder cases.
A case has been filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 56 others following the death of a man named Sohan Shah (30) during an anti-discrimination student movement on July 19 in Rampura.
The murder case was filed by the victim’s mother, Sufia Begum, in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arbia Khanam.
After the hearing, the magistrate recorded the complainant’s statement and instructed the officer in charge of Rampura police station to register it as a formal complaint.
Among the other accused are Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, former chairman of the DB Harun or Rashid, and former Member of Parliament for Narsingdi-1, Nazrul Islam Hiru.
As of August 5, Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India amid intense popular protests, now faces a total of 225 cases, including 194 murder cases.
