Hanging body of tourist recovered from resort in Cox’s Bazar

Police recovered the body of a tourist hanging from a fan in a resort in Kalatali area of ​​Cox’s Bazar. The body was recovered from room number 108 of Maryam Resort in that area on Friday afternoon.

The name of the deceased tourist is Amit Barua (34). He is the son of Rajbihari Barua of Shakpura area of ​​Boalkhali, Chittagong. The police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station Muhammad Faizul Azim confirmed the recovery of the tourist’s body. He said that Amit Barua reached Cox’s Bazar from Chittagong at 11 o’clock on October 8 and went to room number 108 of the resort. Amit Barua was supposed to leave the hotel room around 11 o’clock today.The hotel staff went to the room around 12 noon and called Amit Barua but did not get any response. The door was locked from the inside. Then the police was informed. The police reached the spot and found the body hanging from the room.

The OC also said that initially it is believed that the tourist committed suicide. Details will be known after the autopsy report.
